How to Hire Temporary Event Staff Without the Scramble

Hiring temporary event staff is a timing and reliability problem. The guest list is locked. The floor plan is locked. The only open variable is whether enough people who have worked a plated event actually show up.

This is the checklist operators use when they stop hoping a coordinator texts back.

1. Name the roles

Write the role the way the floor runs: banquet server, bartender, registration, setup, breakdown. “Event staff” is fine as a bucket. It is a weak shift post. Specific roles fill faster because workers know what they are walking into.
